Dip Dye vs Ombre

Let’s talk about some new hair trends for this summer.

Guess you’ve all have seen or heard about this before but I just wanted to share my opinion, ’cause thats way blogs are for right?

So the dip dye definitely is my personal favorite, yet I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to do it to my own hair 😉 . Finally splurged out from the underground scene, we all saw this on tumblr or any other similar site before, if has found its way to the Hollywood celebs.

Nicki does it the easy way, she chooses to wear wigs so she can change her hairstyle and color every single day.

Katy Perry manages to look fab all the time!

Next hair trend: Ombre Hair. When it makes you look as if you forgot to dye your hair you’re doing it wrong!

It should look as if your original color softly smooths out into a lighter version, and if it’s done right I love it!

Certainly this second style has a greater deal of wearability to it and so I think this will be copied by a greater deal of people than the multi-colored dip dye. Though Lauren Conrad, again, shows us it can also be done the Pink way!

Want one of these looks yourself? There are several ways to do it; use some pre-colored clip in extensions, use a colored hairspray (all colors available in a Halloween store near you and I should know ’cause I work at one myself) or actually dye your hair yourself for a more permanent look. Or just visit the hairdresser, guess you won’t be the first the ask for such a hairdo anymore 😉 .

Similar shorts can be find for cheap at H&M and they are sold for a good cause (they are part of the H&M against aids campaign), though you’ll have to put on the studs yourself ;).

Second trend: wear the USA on your body! Since the USA is my favorite travel destination I can do no other than love this trend. I already got myself a USA scarf but take a look at these beauties.

Less than one week until my visit to the USA, can’t wait! Still have to do a lot of things though!

Neon LOve

As you might already know by now, there’s no escaping the neon color trend this summer!

Though I only see myself wearing these bright colors when the sun is actually shining (which is still a moment I’m waiting for here in Belgium), I adore glaring at all those pictures of neon colored objects. So whenever I visit an online shop the first thing I search for is NEON. SO here’s what I found & loved at www.asos.com .

One to watch!

Lana Del Rey

Not only do I love her name, I also love her music, her style and her looks!

Born on June 26 1986, which makes her only two years older than me!, this style icon got world fame with her song & music video called Videogames. Looking at this video takes you back in time, to the early 50’s & 60’s in America. Something Elizabeth Grant (her real name) is capable of doing herself as well, looking at her she reminds you of a Glamourqueen from the early days which spends her time smoking and drinking but still looking fabulous all the time!

Lana isn’t only into music, she’s also into fashion. Mulberry (a brand you fashionistas all know for sure) even launched a bag named after her: The Del Rey. Normally being released in fall 2012, the demand for the bag was so big Mulberry decided to reschedule it’s launch to April 2012. Limited quantities of the bag are being sold in London, New York and Singapore already, while the general release will be on the 14 of May 2012.

Wonderland

Ever heard about a girl named Astrid Bryan?

No? Shame on you!

Astrid is a Belgian modell / actress / television star / celebrity and sort of housewife. She became famous in Belgium last year when her first television show: “Astrid in Wonderland” was launched. In this show we follow Astrid around Hollywood (and sometimes Belgium when she comes over to visit her family). 

I absolutely love this kind of reality tv, because it shows the life that everybody wants to have (or is it only me?) but doesn’t get. Astrid is so lucky! Not only does she look beautiful (in every single outfit that is!) but she also has this wonderful husband John. Although he is like twenty years older than here a lot of the time it seems like she is the oldest one of the two! John is a serious business man but when his job is over they have so much fun together! (a good example of this is Astrid’s obsession with John’s bald head, she likes to eat almost everything off of it)

It’s the kind television that provides you with an instant feeling of happiness, and that’s all we want after a hard day at the office. 

But Astrid ha even more to offer, as a true fashionista she also spends her free time writing a blog which is surely worth following : http://theblondeandthebrunette.com/, as a Hollywood insider she surely is a good trend spotter. She even got John his matching Louboutin’s to the ones she is wearing in the picture above, isn’t that true love? 

Another obsession of hers are these “statues” called Visitors by Cores Da Terra. 

The price of these Visitors ranges from 70€ for the little Johnny’s (as Astrid likes to call them) to 700€ for the big ones. According to Astrid these statues looks just like her husband John… I saw these statues at a store once before I ever saw them on television and I absolutely loved them right away! Only thing is the price… but I guess one day I’ll be brave enough to go and get me one, small or big doesn’t matter. Buying a Visitor is only good for you, it also helps people in Brasil, it’s part of social project to help people to get a job so you don’t have to feel guilty spending all this money on a statue. Last but not least there’s also her brother Laurens, or as she calls him “the Lau”, who also lives in Hollywood now and is working at John’s company. Astrid seems like a mother to him when you see her arriving at his place and telling him to clean up and not to bring to many girls home.

Pretty Please!?

Alright, so I did actually manage to get to the store I wanted today because for a while it seemed like I wasn’t going to make it, meaning that I had to give up on my lovely pink Cambridge satchel Fluoro look-a-like bag. The Neon Yellow one looked fabulous but the pink one is even nicer, euhm Hot Pink I mean!

I think it even glows in the dark! Yes I’ve made the right decision, pink is the way to go for me. (Mine is by a brand called SilliS) 

That’s not all I got today, another package was delivered at my door this morning and guess what’s inside… Yep you’ve got it right, it’s a pair of white high tops with a hidden heel, as seen on many celebrities. Only one tiny difference: all the Hollywood celebs get the Isabel Marrant ones which are about 500$ and mine were only 50$. That’s a good deal right?

I ordered them online at www.riverisland.com about a week ago and I must say they look quite different than the picture that’s shown on their website. As did the earrings I ordered too, the look so much smaller in real life…

My cheap-ass knock offs 😉 Not only do they look great they are comfy as hell!

Love is all we need!

For the Belgian readers amongst you there’s another new shoe brand called March 23rd which also sells some beautiful high top wedges for about 200€, it was just a bit to expensive for me, that’s until the day I decide I really Need a pair of these pretty shoes… won’t be long I guess. Virginie Morobe was born on March 23rd so she decided this would also be the name of her shoe brand, not only the shoes but also the packaging looks great! (more on: info@march23.be)

It’s a Pink world after all!

In case you didn’t notice yet (or you’ve been living on a different planet the past few months), neon is the way to go this summer.

I really love all those bright and shiny colors, but only when the sun is shining and I finally have been able to get a tan. Since our Belgian weather isn’t really amongst the best in the world I’ll still have to hold all those colors in my closet just yet.

The one color I couldn’t resist any longer from poppin’ out my closet is Pink! I’ve never been so obsessed with this color in my life before (no not even when I was a little girl, I liked blue better). On my list already: Pink trousers (H&M), Pink nail polish (SinfulColors), Pink watch (Ice Watch), Pink Rabito iPhone Case and soon to be added to my list a neon Pink Cambridge Satchel look-a-like by SiliS. I’ve got the satchel in Neon Yellow right now, but I’ve decided it’s not really my color so I’m going to exchange it for the pink one tomorrow (so check for pictures 😉 ).

Hi there!

Since I’ve only joined wordpress today it might be the right timing for me to introduce myself.

I’m a 23 year old girl that just loves to spend her free time reading blogs & magazines, watching “stupid” television shows and travel to the USA! But that’s not the only reason for the dollar to show up on the top of my page, another hobby of mine is shopping, and guess what you need for that… right Dollars, and lots of them!

Only two more weeks till me and my boyfriend will be making our 3rd trip to the United States and I’m so excited! We will be traveling to Panama City Beach, Florida. Since my boyfriend will be busy almost all day long (he will be joining a competition in paramotor flying) I will have all of the time to keep you guys posted on all of my activities.
